Role Description
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Veterinary Hospital Practice Manager/Veterinary Technician to lead the day-to-day operations of our animal hospital in Fullerton, California. You will serve in a hybrid role as a Practice Manager/Vet Tech, primarily overseeing day-to-day operations of the hospital, including staff management, scheduling, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, while also assisting with patient care, conducting diagnostic testing, supporting veterinarians during procedures, and providing education to pet owners on proper care and treatments.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of clinic operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and productivity
- Oversee medical administrative support functions such as medical records management, billing, coding, and EMR systems like Idexx Neo
- Supervise veterinary staff, including technicians and administrative personnel, fostering professional development and maintaining high team morale
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing patient information securely
- Monitor fiscal management activities, including inventory and expense control and, to maintain practice profitability
- Coordinate with human resources on hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff scheduling
- Drive initiatives to enhance client experience through excellent customer service and effective communication
- Perform essential technical duties such as administering medications and fluids, collecting samples for diagnostics, radiography and lab analysis, triage patients and provide initial assessments, and monitor and care for hospitalized patients during their stay
- Assist veterinarians in diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
Qualifications
- Strong skills in leadership, team management, and organizational operations
- Proficiency in veterinary care practices, including diagnostic testing and assisting during procedures
- Experience in client communication, customer service, and educating pet owners
- Knowledge of scheduling, inventory management, and financial reporting
- Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain a positive work environment, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Licensed Veterinary Technician certification or relevant credentials preferred
- Experience in a veterinary hospital or similar setting is a plus
