Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to children, from infancy through adolescence, ensuring their health and well-being. You will work collaboratively with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality medical services while fostering a supportive environment for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments of pediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses in children.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
  • Educate patients and families on health management, preventive care, and health coaching.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay updated on pediatric standards of care, including the use of ICD-9 coding for documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Demonstrates progressive leadership and effective management.
  • Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism.
  • Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Pediatric Nurse Practitioner studies.
  • Current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) or equivalent licensure.
  • Familiarity with pediatric coding practices and standards is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating leadership qualities.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio (Required)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) (Required)
  • Current APRN License (Required)
