Full-Time Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) to join our team in a full-time role serving both adults and children. This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys providing individual therapy to adults and facilitating group therapy for children within an after-school program setting.
The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, and passionate about supporting mental health across the lifespan in a structured and collaborative environment.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Consistent weekday schedule aligned with after-school programming
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Services
- Provide individual therapy sessions to adults
- Facilitate group therapy and psychoeducational groups for children in an after-school program
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing therapeutic interventions
- Utilize evidence-based and developmentally appropriate interventions
- Maintain professional, ethical, and therapeutic boundaries
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes
- Ensure documentation meets organizational, ethical, and payer requirements
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, agency policies, and applicable regulations
Collaboration & Program Support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, supervisors, and program staff
- Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other providers as appropriate
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings
Requirements
- Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) status per state guidelines
- Minimum of 3 years of behavioral health experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
- Must have Medicaid Billing Number
- Experience providing therapy to both adults and children
- Ability to facilitate group therapy with children
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in after-school or youth-based programs
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and evidence-based practices
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to manage a structured schedule and diverse caseload
