As a Medical Assistant in our growing practice, you will hold a vital role in the heart of our office. Our team takes pride in working closely together, making each member an essential part of our practice. You will be responsible for providing invaluable administrative support to ensure the seamless operation of our medical office. Your day-to-day tasks will revolve around supporting our dedicated doctor and caring for our patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and effective communication. The target is to complete all tasks accurately, with an unwavering dedication to delivering high-quality care and in a timely manner. Located in Sun City Center our practice focuses on delivering quality care to geriatric patients.
Responsibilities:
- Take patient medical history, vital signs, and record patient information into the electronic medical record system.
- Coordinate patient care with other healthcare providers, including specialists and hospitals, as necessary.
- Work with patients and physicians to triage clinical concerns and coordinate the patient with the right level of care.
- Perform medical administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and ensure that all equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Greet and interact with patients warmly, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
Requirements:
- Hospitality and compassion for geriatric Patients
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience in providing patient service and support in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in performing vital sign measurements accurately
- Familiarity with medical administrative tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with patients, colleagues, and providers effectively.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) system and basic office software (Experience with AthenaHealth preferred).
