Role Description
This is a contract, on-site role for a Family Support Worker based in Washington, DC. The Family Support Worker will actively engage with families to provide essential services and resources, conduct case management, and support parenting education. Key responsibilities include working closely with parents and children to facilitate interventions, connecting families with available services, and documenting client progress. The role also requires effective communication with families and team members to deliver compassionate and effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience in Social Work and Family Services
- Proficiency in Case Management and Working With Children
- Strong Communication skills, including active listening, verbal, and written abilities
- Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality when supporting at-risk families
- Knowledge of resources and services available for low-income or high-risk families is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field is strongly preferred
- Experience in a community-based non-profit organization is advantageous
