General Information

Tell us about the unit(s): this position would be expected to float between IRF and Acute Hospital floor

·         Number of Beds: 14 bed rehab unit, 135 bed acute care hospital (includes a 7 bed ICU)

·         Number of Staff: 3 PRN speech therapist that assist throughout the week/weekend

·         Type of Staff:  

o    Day Shift: 8-hour shifts (flexible start/stop time), 1 weekend a month expectation with option to flex a day during the week.

o    Night Shift: N/A

·         Patient Ratios (Estimated)  - Changes t/o the week: PRN assist throughout week to assist with caseload

o    Usually see approx. 5-6 patients on rehab 3-5x/week depending on frequency/need and then acute caseload (varies). OP modifieds 1x/week (usually no more than 1 or 2)

·         Type of Equipment: FEES

·         Documentation System: Meditech

·         Call Requirements: N/A

Must have: (includes certifications and special skills, ex: ACLS, BLS, NIH)

·         BLS

·         CCC-SLP

·         Experience with MBSS

List Typical Procedures Performed on Unit(s):  

·         FEES certification preferred**

Additional Preferences: (ex: previous travel experience preferred, easily adaptable to fast paced unit, can function well independently)

·          Looking for someone that has experience in an acute hospital setting, experience with MBSS is a must and FEES certification with experience is preferred

·         Scrub Color – light grey tops/bottoms, also can wear black pants
