Clinical Decision Unit D2 PCU

6:45p - 7:15am

every other weekend, no call, assist with holidays

Number of Beds in Unit : 40

Patient Ratios : 1:5 Step-Down/1:6 MedSurg – 1:5 if combined – day and night

Floating policy: expected to float to other units within skill set
EMR: Cerner

Unit focus is ED decompression and enhanced throughput. We are not an overflow or a holding unit. We are a Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit with a primary goal of receiving admitted patients from the ED, completing the Admission Assessment, Medication Reconciliation, and initiating acute care orders. This constantly refined process reduces overall length of stay and enhances the patient/family experience.

We care for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses; therefore, a well-rounded background will be instrumental.  

Must have: Prefer a minimum of 2-years recent MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) level experience

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
