Role Description This part-time Certified Personal Trainer role is an on-site position located in West Springfield, MA. The Personal Trainer will conduct individual and small-group training sessions, create personalized fitness programs, and provide ongoing coaching to help members meet their health and wellness goals. Daily responsibilities include performing fitness assessments, demonstrating safe and effective exercise techniques, monitoring member progress, and maintaining a welcoming, professional training environment. The trainer will educate members on healthy lifestyle habits, collaborate with other staff to support member retention, and uphold Healthtrax standards for customer service, safety, and cleanliness. This role involves flexible scheduling, including potential evenings, weekends, and peak club hours.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Personal Training and Fitness Instruction, including designing and delivering individualized workout programs.
- Candidates should possess skills in Circuit Training and Sports Coaching to support diverse training styles and small-group or athletic-focused sessions.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Nutrition to provide general guidance that complements members’ fitness plans.
- Current nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA) and CPR/AED certification are required.
- Experience working in a fitness center or wellness environment and comfort training a wide range of ages and fitness levels are strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to motivate and safely coach members toward their goals.
- Ability to stand, walk, and demonstrate exercises for extended periods, and to safely lift and move fitness equipment as needed.
