Position Overview
HealthStream’s Platform Architecture team is looking for a Developer Intern to join our OneApp Core team for Summer 2026. OneApp is HealthStream’s next-generation microfrontend platform built on Webpack Module Federation, enabling independently deployable micro-applications within a unified shell. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced frontend architects and developers to build production-quality React components, contribute to the shared design system, and help advance our microfrontend architecture that serves thousands of healthcare organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain React components within the OneApp microfrontend architecture using Module Federation
- Contribute to the shared component library and design system used across micro-applications
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily standups with the OneApp Core team
- Collaborate with product owners and architects to translate requirements into technical implementations
- Assist in debugging and resolving frontend performance issues across micro-applications
- Document technical designs, component APIs, and development patterns for team knowledge sharing
- Present internship project findings and learnings to the broader engineering organization
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Coursework or project experience with React or a similar modern frontend framework
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and how frontend applications consume them
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
Requirements
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
- Familiarity with modern build tools (Webpack, npm/yarn)
- Understanding of responsive design and CSS-in-JS or Tailwind CSS
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to writing clean, maintainable code

- This role will be paid at 18 an Hr.
- Full time 35-40 hours
- The program will run for 10-12 weeks depending on availability
