Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Chiropractic Assistant / Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and passionate about providing exceptional service in a fast-paced chiropractic environment. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and assist with administrative tasks, medical documentation, and insurance processing to support our practitioners’ delivery of quality care.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, check-in appointments, and manage patient flow efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems HSWorx
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification.
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Collect patient information through intake forms, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Assist with medical billing and coding processes including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure proper reimbursement
- Manage medical records filing, document review, and health information management in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support clinical staff by preparing treatment rooms, assisting with patient setup, and maintaining cleanliness of the clinic environment
- Utilize office management tools such as Microsoft Office Suite to generate reports, update records, and handle administrative correspondence
- Maintain a professional front desk environment by managing appointment reminders, patient inquiries, and multi-tasking effectively in a fast-paced setting
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards and confidentiality protocols
- Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office applications, and electronic health information management systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare procedures, insurance verification processes and medical billing practices
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks
- Office management experience including front desk operations, appointment scheduling, and administrative support tasks
