🩺 What You’ll Do
As the Infection Control Preventionist, you will lead all facility-wide infection prevention and control efforts, collaborating with nursing leadership, physicians, and the broader clinical team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all infection prevention and control initiatives
- Conducting surveillance, tracking data trends, and analyzing infection-related outcomes
- Managing outbreak response and timely reporting to regulatory bodies
- Updating policies and procedures to stay aligned with current standards
- Leading Infection Control Committee meetings
- Educating staff on best practices and regulatory requirements
- Managing resident and staff immunization programs
- Supporting orientation and ongoing clinical training for nursing staff
- Participating in DOH and Joint Commission surveys and corrective action planning
- Presenting infection control and antibiotic stewardship updates within QAPI meetings
🎓 What You Bring
- Current NYS RN license
- BSN required; Master’s preferred
- Specialized infection control training
- 5 years of experience in clinical education or long-term care preferred
- BCLS certification
- APIC certification preferred
