Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Billing AR Specialist to join our billing department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the billing and accounts receivable processes specific to RADIOLOGY services, ensuring accurate COLLECTIONS, timely COLLECTIONS,. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of RADIOLOGY coding, insurance claims management, and RADIOLOGY billing procedures. Your expertise will directly contribute to the financial health of our organization by optimizing revenue cycle operations and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit AR RADIOLOGY -related claims using appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding standards.
- Review RADIOLOGY records and documentation to ensure proper coding accuracy for billing purposes.
- Follow up on unpaid or delayed insurance claims, working diligently to resolve RADIOLOGY denials and rejections.
- Manage patient accounts receivable by applying payments, issuing statements, and conducting collections when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to clarify RADIOLOGY billing discrepancies or issues.
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare claims management regulations, health insurance policies, and medical coding updates.
- Utilize billing software ECLINICAL and Microsoft Office tools to generate reports, track outstanding balances, and support financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare laws, privacy standards, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing within a RADIOLOGY or DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING .
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding systems including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD coding standards, and DRG classifications.
- Familiarity with healthcare claims management processes and medical collection procedures.
- Proficiency in billing software applications as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with ECLINICAL EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Knowledge of health insurance policies, medical billing regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret complex RADIOLOGY medical documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple accounts simultaneously.
