Psychiatric Program Director Position Summary:
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program Director oversees the planning, development, and management of mental health programs and services within the organization. This role provides leadership, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and supports high-quality, person-centered care for clients with mental health needs. The Program Director manages multidisciplinary staff, coordinates collaborates with internal and external partners to enhance service delivery. This position plays a key role in strategic planning, improving program effectiveness, and fostering a safe, therapeutic environment that supports client recovery and wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implements strategic decisions as part of the directory team and coordinates activities consistently across all parts of the organization.
- Oversee all onsite and offsite operations and facilities in the county, including the outreach team.
- Ensure that the program space and physical environment are clean and safe for clients and staff and all agency Health & Safety standards are met.
- Take part in all agency-sponsored training programs required by supervisor.
- Responsible for onboarding new staff.
- Support staff in continuous education needs. Provide role modeling and mentor staff.
- Review IRPs for correctness and sign off on all treatment plans.
- Actively develop relationships with outside stakeholders, area providers and organizations to increase the organization’s visibility.
- Serve in Crisis Response Team rotation
- Ensure that revenue and expenses are developed and controlled in accordance with the county budget.
- Ensure that all documentation generated by the teams is timely, accurate, and reflects a high professional standard.
- Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.
- Model the mission, core values, and quality/evidenced based care.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT TEAM LEADER
Qualification, Education and Experience:
- Formal training at a master’s degree level in human services, licensed mental health professional, and at least five years’ experience working with people recovering from severe mental illness. CRC or CRPC certification preferred.
- Substantial supervisory track record with evidence of teamwork development and leadership.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Full valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Meet credentialing and privileging requirements as set out in Policy and Procedures.
