LINE COOK
Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of safety procedures, including safe temperatures at which ingredients must be kept and to which food must be prepared to avoid foodborne illness.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of other people.
- Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Accountability for the dishes they prepare, measuring up to the expectations of management.
- Comprehension and organization to follow direct orders and recipes and to correctly prepare dishes to the standards of the organization.
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Maintain responsibility for the cleaning and upkeep of the Dining Room at Main Street
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- High school education or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school is preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Familiarity with and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients.
- Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time.
