Summary
This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the pools. Works with staff members to provide all the services necessary that members would expect in the pool. Ensures there are adequate towels and supplies in the pool area and that the pools and pool decks are clean at all times.Minimum age 16 years old with work permit required. A minimum of one year of experience in working with the public and six months of aquatic experience is preferred. Certification in first aid and Red Cross Lifeguard required. Must have the ability to carry up to 50 pounds and have the physical capability to fulfill job responsibilities as outlined above. Must have good communication and organizational skills to maintain a safe environment. Must be able to identify problems and bring them to the attention of the appropriate staff or solve problems independently. Must be knowledgeable of the psychosocial and physiological development and spiritual needs of infants, children, adolescents, and all adult age groups (per Erickson’s Model) in order to provide appropriate care and intervention, either personally or through staff.Must have excellent visual and hearing dexterity. Must have the ability to tolerate standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Must be able to lift an adult out of the pool. May be subjected to exposures to chemicals.
