• Compensation: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, depending on experience

Location & Logistics:

• Work Environment: Busy outpatient clinic with exam rooms, in-office procedures, and a steady weekday patient schedule
• Department or Team: Clinical support team, working directly with our physicians, advanced practice providers, front office, and administrative staff
• Patient-Facing Responsibilities: High — rooming, vitals, histories, patient education, and follow-up coordination for every visit
• Systems / Software: Electronic medical record (EMR) system for charting, orders, refills, and referrals; the specific platform is reviewed during the interview process
• Travel: This is an on-site role based at our Scottsdale location; any occasional coverage at another practice site would be reviewed during the interview process

About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life:

Your day runs with the schedule. You room patients, take and document vital signs, and capture histories, current medications, and the chief complaint so the provider walks in already oriented. Many of our patients are managing acute or chronic pain, so the few minutes you spend with them at the start of the visit matter — both for the accuracy of the chart and for how cared-for they feel.

From there you are the provider's second set of hands. You set up rooms and instruments, assist with examinations, treatments, and minor in-office procedures, and keep the clinical flow moving between rooms. Between patients you are documenting in the EMR, working refill requests and medication reconciliation under provider direction, and getting referrals, imaging, and other ancillary orders moving so nothing stalls after the visit ends.

You will also own the quieter work that keeps a clinic safe and stocked: infection control and sterilization, room turnover, supply monitoring, and inventory. It is a fast-paced, hands-on seat with real variety — and a genuine chance to build specialty clinical skills if you have been working in primary care or another specialty and want to go deeper.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories, medications, and chief complaints
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations, treatments, and minor in-office procedures
• Prepare examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies for patient visits
• Support patient intake, follow-up appointments, and clinical workflows
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Assist with medication reconciliation, prescription refill requests, and pharmacy communication under provider direction
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic imaging, and other ancillary services as needed
• Provide patients with instructions and education on treatment plans and follow-up care
• Maintain proper infection control, sterilization, and safety procedures
• Monitor medical supplies and assist with inventory management
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and administrative staff to keep clinic operations efficient
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Required Qualifications:

• Medical assistant training or relevant clinical experience in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care practices
• Ability to obtain and document vital signs accurately
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records
• Professional, dependable, and patient-focused attitude
• Ability to work effectively in a busy outpatient medical environment

Preferred Background:

• Previous experience in pain management
• Experience in orthopedics, neurology, or another specialty practice
• Experience assisting with in-office procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems
• Medical assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)

• Would rather limit patient contact or administrative follow-through than own both
• Are looking for a remote or hybrid position, or cannot work on-site in Scottsdale on weekdays
