What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residency Coordinator position at HealthLinc?
As a Residency Coordinator, you will provide administrative support for HealthLinc’s family residency program. In this role, you will coordinate daily administrative operations, ensuring seamless patient care and support. You will work closely with medical staff, patients, and Family Medicine Residency Director to provide an optimal care experience, maintain high-quality standards, and uphold compliance with healthcare regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage resident and preceptor schedules to meet the needs of the program.
- Identify coverage needs when preceptors are unavailable.
- Schedule patients with assigned resident to provide continuity of care.
- Organizes appropriate referrals to specialists and remains a resource for patients and staff regarding the referral agencies and process.
- Checks Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance websites for patients’ provider coverage.
- Completes referral information for patients as requested by the Providers.
- Manages open referral orders by finding documents and follows up with all parties involved.
- Assists with patient phone calls and questions.
- Follows up with specialty clinics to coordinate patients’ medical information flow.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation.
- Obtain prior authorization for specific testing.
- Work with Residency Program Specialist and Residency Director to schedule didactics training.
- Supports residents and assists with addressing their questions.
- Acts as a liaison between residents and other clinical support staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training
- High School Diploma
Experience
- At least 1-3 years of previous related experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating intern or residency programs preferred.
- Experience coordinating and working collaboratively across an organization preferred.
Skills/Job Requirement
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable.
- Transportation and valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
