Description
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for providing clinical skills training in support of HealthLinc’s Medical Assistant training program as well as new hire orientation for all clinical staff. You will develop and provide instructional training on clinical aptitudes for Medical Assistants and Patient Care Team Nurses.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Skills Coach for Medical Assistant Trainees
- Prepares lesson plans and executes training in accordance with guidelines.
- Guides skills practice in controlled skills lab.
- Provides guidance to MA students through lecture and hands-on learning lab.
- Serves as liaison for preceptors and MA students.
- Plans and executes meetings with preceptors with a defined agenda and objectives.
New Hire Orientation for Clinical Staff
- Provides training during onboarding week as needed.
- Reviews orientation materials for clinical staff and develops and makes changes as necessary.
- Collaborates with the DON, Site Operation Directors, and Site Medical Directors to develop an orientation schedule and timeline for new hires.
- Evaluates recommended clinical skills of new hires.
General Education
- Participates in the development and training of skills competencies for Medical Assistants and Patient Care Team Nurses.
- Provides onsite training at the Corporate location on new programs and processes as designated by the Human Resource Department and/or Senior Team.
- Provides BLS certification classes and recertification classes as needed by the organization.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related area preferred
- Master’s Degree (not required but highly preferred)
Certification
- Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana highly preferred, or Licensed Practical Nurse with background in teaching and instructing or Certified Medical Assistant with experience in teaching and instructing students.
- Must be or become certified as a BLS instructor through the American Heart Association within 6 months of employment
Experience
- Experience coordinating and working collaboratively across an organization
- Experience and demonstrated abilities for working in a multi-cultural setting
