Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision to nursing staff on assigned units under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC
- Oversee unit operations and supervise staff on respective shifts to assure quality resident care
- Communicate with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager to identify and resolve unit problems; coordinate resolution and document communications for off-shift coverage
- Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator within the LTC scope
- Collaborate with medical staff, department managers, and ancillary services to coordinate resident care in a professional and courteous manner
- Model professional leadership, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and uphold NYSDOH requirements and the healing environment
Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
- Certification: BLS (American Heart Association or RQI system)
- CPI (Controlled Pharmacy Institute) obtained within 90 days of hire
- Minimum 1 year nurse experience in long-term care with supervisory experience across multiple units
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing; BSN preferred
