Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of Nursing Services within the assigned department, including staffing, skill development, and adherence to standards of care.
- Coordinate patient care assignments, monitor workload, and optimize staffing to meet patient needs and safety.
- Develop, implement, and update department policies, procedures, and performance standards; ensure regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, CMS, etc.).
- Partner with Education and Human Resources to support ongoing education, competency validation, and staff development; oversee preceptor programs.
- Support quality improvement activities, participate in governance forums, and escalate administrative concerns to leadership as needed.
Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required at time of submittal
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; high school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years professional nursing experience; minimum 2 years as staff RN in immunotherapy/chemo; 1 year with supervisory/manager responsibilities
- ACLS required; PALS and NRP preferred
- Flu vaccine required
- No time off (RTO) during first 13 weeks of the contract period
