Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients, including ongoing assessment, care planning, and patient safety monitoring
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and monitor for adverse effects; document responses and changes in patient condition
• Perform focused assessments, respond to clinical changes, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team; document in the Meditech EMR
• Manage treatment devices and procedures as appropriate (e.g., wound care devices, chest tubes) and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning; collaborate with case management to support smooth transitions of care
• May float to other units as needed; adapt to variation in shift lengths and unit expectations
  
  

Requirements

• Hawaii RN license, active and in good standing, by start date
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2–10 years of Med Surg RN experience
• Ability to work nights and accommodate varying shift lengths
• Proof of flu vaccination or approved exemption required before start
• Ability to work in a hospital medical-surgical setting and to float to other units as needed
