Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care to adolescent patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting, using the nursing process
• Delegate appropriate interventions, supervise staff as needed, and ensure a safe care environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan and manage care, including education for patients and families
• Monitor patient status, respond to crises, and participate in de-escalation as part of high-stress care scenarios
• Administer medications per physician orders, monitor responses, and adhere to acuity-informed workflows; apply BLS/ACLS/PALS protocols as required
• Document accurately and maintain compliance with licensure and facility policies; participate in continuous quality improvement
  
  

Requirements

• Current Maine RN license (active) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• 1–3 years’ nursing experience with children and adolescents preferred
• Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge preferred or obtained before orientation; Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained before orientation
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location; ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced inpatient setting
