The Director of Delivery System Innovation (DSI) is responsible for designing, executing, and scaling innovative delivery system partnerships that improve outcomes for complex and chronically ill populations while advancing Healthfirst’s value-based care strategy. This role serves as a strategic and operational leader across provider, vendor, and hospital partnerships, balancing external relationship management with internal execution, performance oversight, and cross-functional coordination. The Director works closely with senior DSI and DSE leadership to translate enterprise strategy into actionable partnerships, oversee contract and financial performance, and drive innovation across risk arrangements, alternative delivery models, and state-led initiatives.

Strategic Partnership & Innovation Leadership
- Identify, assess, and support the development of innovative delivery system partnerships with hospitals, provider organizations, and specialized vendors, including value-based and risk-bearing arrangements
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to DSI and DSE leadership in advancing Healthfirst’s delivery system and risk model evolution
- Support the design and implementation of pilots and scalable programs focused on high-need, high-cost member populations, including telehealth, alternative care models, and VBP enablers
- Oversee financial, operational, and quality performance of assigned provider and vendor partnerships, ensuring alignment with contractual expectations and Healthfirst objectives
- Partner with internal teams to track performance metrics, manage reconciliations, and identify opportunities for performance improvement
- Support contract negotiations and ongoing contract management, including risk arrangements, deliverables, and governance structures
- Act as a primary point of coordination between external partners and internal stakeholders
- Establish and participate in Joint Operating Committees and other governance forums
- Represent DSI perspectives in enterprise discussions related to growth, quality, attribution, and financial performance
- Support state-led and regulatory initiatives (e.g., 1115 Waiver programs, VBP and SDH reporting)
- Contribute to annual planning, business reviews, and performance reporting
- Identify system capabilities, tools, and process improvements needed to support scalable partnership management
- Lead, mentor, and develop managers and individual contributors
- Influence across matrixed teams to drive change in complex and ambiguous environments
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5–8 years of progressive healthcare experience.
- Experience managing complex contracts and value-based arrangements
- Strong understanding of healthcare delivery systems and managed care
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
- Master's degree
- Experience with hospital systems, IPAs, MSOs, or specialized provider organizations
- Familiarity with NY State initiatives such as 1115 Waivers and VBP
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $154,600 - $236,555
- All Other Locations (within approved locations): $127,500 - $195,075
