Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric med-management services to the residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term care facilities within an assigned territory.
Essential Functions
- Monitor psychiatric medications for effectiveness, response of resident, and side effects
- Inform residents of potential side effects of psychiatric medications
- Recommend the initiation of any psychiatric medication deemed appropriate
- Complete AIMS testing every three months on residents receiving antipsychotic medication
- Monitor tapering of psychiatric medications according to federal regulations
- Recommend behavioral interventions to nursing staff
- Develop behavior plans as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Mobile model treatment of patients requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university
- State Professional Nurse Practitioner license
- Board Certification required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently on a daily basis
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to use email, the internet, and to learn other healthcare related software
