About the Role
We are seeking accomplished physicians, healthcare executives, founders, investors, operators, and industry leaders to join our Board of Directors.
Board Members provide strategic guidance on the firm’s long-term vision, investment strategy, ecosystem growth, partnerships, and founder support while helping Healthcare Shares expand its impact across healthcare innovation.
This is a flexible, remote role requiring approximately 2–4 hours per month.
Responsibilities
- Advise on long-term strategy and organizational growth
- Provide insight on healthcare markets, innovation, and investment trends
- Support founders through strategic guidance and industry expertise
- Make introductions that strengthen our ecosystem and partnerships
- Participate in periodic board discussions and strategic initiatives
Preferred Experience
We’re interested in leaders with significant experience in one or more of the following:
- Healthcare or medicine
- Venture capital or private equity
- Healthcare startups or entrepreneurship
- Health systems or healthcare operations
- Digital health, AI, biotech, medical devices, or life sciences
- Board, executive, founder, investor, or senior leadership experience
A strong professional network within healthcare or venture investing is highly valued.
Compensation
Board Members receive carried interest in the Healthcare Shares Venture Capital Fund. Additional opportunities may be available to advise or support portfolio and venture studio companies, including potential equity participation where appropriate.

Pay: $25.00 - $350.00 per hour
Experience:
- Angel Investing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical Practice: 5 years (Preferred)
- Accredited Investing: 1 year (Preferred)
