- Completes and signs necessary forms and explains the procedure to the patient.
- Maintains patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the coach and the exam.
- Maintains technical competency through continued education.
- Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.
- May assist with the setup and tear down of equipment following SMS and/or manufacturers’ guidelines.
- Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the facility.
- Completes all necessary administrative tasks.
- Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations.
- Performs additional duties as required.
- Radiographer certification preferred.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an MRI Tech. 2 years medical assistant or imaging assistant
Must be able to safely enter and work in MRI Zones III and IV in accordance with MRI safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of human anatomy.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
- IV experience preferred
- The MRI environment includes strong magnetic fields that may pose safety risks for individuals with certain metallic objects or devices.
- Strong customer service.
- Strong attention-to-detail.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Lift and position patients for the type of MRI procedure required.
- Keep and maintain records.
- Normal clinic environment.
- May be exposed to disease, and toxic chemicals in the course of performing the work.
- PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
- Sedentary work, with occasional walking.
- Must be able to lift as some patients may have to be lifted and/or turned. –50 POUNDS
