Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service while making a difference in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness? Health Care for the Homeless is seeking a dedicated Client Service Representative to join our Practice Operations team.
In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic—greeting clients and visitors, managing client intake and discharge processes, scheduling appointments, handling referrals, and ensuring seamless communication between clients and staff. You will work directly with interdisciplinary teams to support clients through every stage of their visit, all while upholding the dignity and confidentiality of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist clients, ensuring they are directed appropriately.
Manage client registration, verify insurance, update records, and process consents.
Schedule client appointments across disciplines and document activities in the EMR.
Support client discharge by coordinating referrals, follow-up appointments, and resource distribution.
Handle incoming calls, provide telephone triage, and ensure timely communication of messages.
Process release of information requests while maintaining compliance with HIPAA.
Maintain a neat and welcoming reception area.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year in customer service.
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or from low-income backgrounds preferred.
Familiarity with medical or insurance systems is a plus.
Skills:
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm in high-stress situations.
Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred.
Security or de-escalation training a plus.
