What you will do Assists with hiring, evaluation, discipline. Trains, orients and evaluates workloads for the ASC staff. Resolves conflicts, mediates, and requires compliance with policies by employees and physicians. Assumes responsibility for the formulation and implementation of a clinical philosophy and objectives consistent with the stated goals of the ASC. Is responsible for the development of policies, procedures, and staffing essential to the achievement of the philosophy and objectives of the ASC. Reviews and revises these in collaboration with the Clinical Advisory Committee, clinical staff, and the Professional Staff, keeping up to date on current trends in nursing practice and patient care. Responsible for evaluation of programs and patient care activities. Is responsible for continued compliance with regulatory standards and assures documentation of patient care to meet criteria dictated by legal practice, state and federal health standards. Is responsible for developing an organizational structure, assigning responsibilities and delegating authority that will facilitate safe, effective and efficient care for the surgical patient. Provides leadership and support in developing and maintaining effective relationships with the staff. Establishes, maintains, analyzes and evaluates standards of nursing care within the facility in compliance with professional nursing standards and recommended operating room, pre- and post-operative procedures. Is responsible for collaborating on standards of performance and maintaining effective working relationships with clinical and professional personnel and support services such as housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and accounting. Is responsible for assisting in the recruitment, retention, evaluation and supervision of clinical and professional personnel. Initiates and/or supports activities to control costs without compromising patient care. Ensures that existing policies and procedures are understood and implemented. Make recommendations for medical supplies and equipment purchases based on the evaluation of new and/or improved products. Provides appropriate resources for meeting the educational needs of the staff. Supervises the collection of all required records and reports. Communicates effectively with all staff and ensures that all necessary information is disseminated. Holds individual employees accountable for assigned responsibilities, individual goals and future expectations through annual performance reviews. Is expected to have general nursing knowledge of all surgical procedures performed at the ASC. Supervises and performs, as needed, peri-operative nursing care. Evaluates the environment where patient care activities takes place and makes appropriate changes as indicated. Coordinates Performance Improvement programs for equipment, procedures, and policy changes in the ASC. Is thoroughly familiar with and totally comfortable in the role of patient advocate as it applies to peri-operative nursing. Is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Has a thorough working knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and its application. Additional responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications What you need: A minimum of 3 years demonstrated leadership experience is required. The ability to manage day-to-day activities and operations, while also strategizing and implementing solutions leading to future success is required. Preferred charge/lead/coordinator position within an ASC or Operating Room setting, Personnel management experience and process improvement required MA licensed BLS and ACLS Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds. Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation. Preferred Qualifications: BS Nursing preferred, MS preferred Additional Job Description: Salary range for this position is $80,000-$155,000 bonus eligible benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
