You will operate as a subject matter expert on the technical capabilities of your product and will work directly with Product Managers, stakeholders, engineers, and fellow Product Owners to define the roadmap, features, and priorities for your team. Your ability to think both strategically and tactically will drive the success of your product and impact the momentum of Health Union as a whole.
What You'll Do
What You Bring
At Health Union, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range that provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, a professional development budget, and paid time off available to full-time employees upon hire. You will also be granted time off for designated company-paid holidays, summer Fridays, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
HEALTH UNION REALLY IS THE BEST PLACE TO WORK
As a dynamic organization that offers flexible work options, we foster a workplace that encourages an authentic, respectful culture of teaching and learning. We work hard and save space to form close-knit relationships that are meaningful to us individually. Health Union also offers top-tier benefits and other perks to full-time employees, starting day one. We cultivate a dynamic, collaborative work environment that values inclusion, community, excellence, and transparency. But don’t just take our word for it: The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Business Journal, Inc., and Forbes have all named Health Union a “best place to work”-and we take pride in living up to that hype every day.
Commitment to Inclusion
At Health Union, we believe that individually we make a statement, but collectively we make an impact. Diversity and inclusion power that impact. We strive to create a sense of belonging by embracing our differences. We are an organization where everyone is valued, heard, and appreciated. Health Union encourages applicants from historically marginalized populations to consider our team as your next opportunity for change. We are committed to equal employment opportunity and advancement regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or gender expression, Veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
To comply with federal law, Health Union participates in E-Verify. Successful candidates must pass the E-Verify process after hire.
The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of two in-office days per week. Our office is located in Center City, Philadelphia.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the U.S for any employer.

What You'll Do
- Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and champion a product roadmap that connects long-term strategic goals to near-term, deliverable initiatives
- Own your backlog end-to-end: gather and translate requirements, write clear user stories, define acceptance criteria, identify dependencies, and set priorities that reflect both user needs and business value
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering teams in an Agile environment, removing roadblocks, clarifying requirements, and keeping delivery on track
- Serve as the voice of the user in every planning and refinement session, grounding decisions in research, data, and empathy
- Manage stakeholder expectations proactively, communicating roadmap progress, trade-offs, and schedule changes with transparency and confidence
- Escalate and resolve issues and bottlenecks with sound judgment, appropriate urgency, and a bias toward action
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across engineering, operations, design, and business teams
- Find ways to effectively leverage AI solutions to streamline individual and team responsibilities
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience in product ownership, product management, or a closely related role on a technical team, enough to hit the ground running, with plenty of room to grow
- Basic familiarity with the technical stack, from data through software, and comfort engaging with engineers on technical topics
- Familiarity with Agile sprint frameworks and work management tools like Jira or similar
- The ability to think at both the strategic and tactical levels, connecting the "why" behind a product decision to the day-to-day work of delivering it
- Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders at varying levels of seniority, and a drive to keep all of them informed through frequent, transparent updates
- Prioritization of progress over perfection, and outcomes over output
- Comfort working through ambiguity and bringing structure to problems that don't come with a clear answer, and a willingness to challenge the status quo to find the right solution, not just the most obvious one
- A love of fast-paced environments where priorities shift and no two days look the same
- Curiosity about the ways AI can drive productivity and interest in experimenting with integrating AI into workflows
- An interest in using data to inform prioritization and evaluate outcomes. Experience with BI tools is a plus, not a requirement
- A genuine interest in health, community, and the ways technology can improve people's lives
