Position Overview

Health Union is seeking a Community Manager to join our growing Community Development Team. The Community Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the overall health and growth of our online communities. In this role, you will work with other community team members, cross-functional team members, and our patient leaders to manage our online health communities.

Given our aggressive growth and variety of projects, day-to-day responsibilities and projects can vary greatly. This position provides development opportunities for driven, successful individuals. Responsibilities may change and evolve as the team and Health Union grow.

What You Do

  • Build and maintain a working knowledge of relevant disease states to inform content strategy and community engagement
  • Own and evolve the community strategy for each assigned community, using data and community insights to guide decisions and optimize performance
  • Leverage content, email, and social channels to drive community growth, engagement, and retention
  • Manage site content to ensure diversity, accuracy, quality, and relevance
  • Optimize content for readability and search performance (SEO, Zero-Click, AEO, GEO) in partnership with subject matter experts
  • Lead email marketing strategy and execution for the relevant community
  • Lead and support site-specific Health Leader teams to foster authentic engagement and community trust
  • Encourage meaningful community interaction while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
  • Identify and execute scalable opportunities to grow the community and strengthen relationships
  • Surface insights and recommendations from community management to inform broader strategy and decision-making

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, or relevant experience
  • 1 years in community management, content management/editorial, health education, or online marketing/public relations/communications
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without the need for direct guidance or management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple conversations via multiple platforms: social, blog, email, internal, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage timely turnaround of content, responses, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, independent thinking with a positive attitude
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into similar, intuitive communications
  • Proactive in creating conversations and seeking innovative ways to connect online
  • Experience in healthcare a plus

Annual base salary for positions at this level and job group is $60,000-$70,000, and your base pay will depend on the qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies required for this job.

At Health Union, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range that provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
