Chiropractic Assistant

Job Duties and Description

• Must be willing to become knowledgeable about Chiropractic care and treatments in the office. 
• Greets patients and checks them in, confirming their insurance status, the ways in which they will pay, their medical histories, and any other relevant medical
• Takes some general diagnostic information including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height and records this for the doctor's use in the examination and
• Manages the practice's schedule, makes appointments for patients, determines when the chiropractor is available and confirms appointments to make sure patients are on
• Collects and processes payments from
• Controls the waiting room, attends to patient needs, and ensures the office runs on
• Distributes educational information to patients as instructed by the Maintains organized files on all patients.
• Abides by HIPAA laws regarding sharing of personal medical Attends to email correspondence.
• Answers the phones and addresses all patient questions and concerns, forwarding calls to the appropriate parties, when
• Keeps the office clean and presentable, doing spot cleaning throughout the day and thorough cleaning at the end of each business
• Explains the office policies to patients as needed.
• Processes patient authorizations for treatment and consultations.
• Collects imaging reports from various facilities and prepares medical records for copying requests.
• Follows Compliance rules and regulation against fraud and Maintains front office quality assurance.
• Serves as a role model for customer service and mentor support Informs supervisors of operational problems.
• Handles a variety of matters including managed care, insurance, collections, operational and customer service issues.
• Must be able to multitask.
• Must be organized. 

• Must have the ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Must have strong communications skills and be able to relate to people from all walks of life.
• Must be proficient with technology with fast typing skills and have the ability to learn, via in house training, medical and insurance billing software programs.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision the majority of the time.
• Must be willing to adapt to change.
• Must be able to prioritize workload while remaining flexible.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus but is not required.
• Must be willing to learn the front desk and how to set patients up on each piece of therapy equipment in the office and be able to recognize when they are needed for each role. 
• Must be willing and able to be taught the basics of x-ray positioning and taking digital x-rays.

• Must be willing to interact with people on a constant basis.
• Sometimes busy, hectic, noisy or stressful with interruptions.
• Involves frequent telephone contact with patients.
• This is a full-time position with approximately 35-37 hours per week

Starting Pay $12-$16 per hour with room for growth and development over time. 

After a 90 trial period you will earn 27 hours of PTO in a 9 month period. At 1 year you will earn 37 hours of PTO per year. Each month you earn a set amount of PTO that you can use based on your hire date. There is no sick leave, only PTO that can be used at your discretion. All time off must be approved by your office manager. PTO does not rollover.

Hours:

• Monday-Thursday: 8:15a-1:00p and 2:50p-6:00p,Friday: 8:15a-1:00p
• Every other Saturday 8:50a-11:00a
