Big Spring State Hospital is looking for a compassionate and experienced Social Work Supervisor to lead and support our social work team. As part of the Texas Health and Specialty Care System, you will join professionals who provide specialized care to Texans with complex mental health needs.
What You'll Do
In this leadership role, you will:
- Oversee the hospital's social work program.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to social workers.
- Support hiring, training, scheduling, workload assignments, and staff development.
- Review social assessments, recovery plans, and discharge plans.
- Oversee clinical services, including assessments and individual, group, and family therapy.
- Monitor the quality of social work services and help ensure standards of care are met.
- Support effective discharge planning and coordination with patients, families, treatment teams, and community resources.
- Participate in hospital leadership teams, program development, quality improvement activities, and organizational workgroups.
Required Licensure
- Applicants must maintain licensure in accordance with the Texas Board of Social Work Examiners.
Initial Screening Criteria
To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required
- Three years of experience, including at least one year working directly with people with mental, social, or substance use disorders
- One year of experience supervising social services work
- LCSW-S preferred
