We’re hiring for a full-time Medical Assistant II (Float) to join our dynamic health care teams at Medical Center and Perry Hall facilities.

What You’ll Be Doing
This role supports multidisciplinary care teams across multiple clinic locations, contributing to high-quality, patient-centered care. The MA will play a key role in supporting Alternative Payment Model (APM) quality measures, including preventive care, chronic disease management.

RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Medical Assistant II (Float) under the supervision of the Department Manager you will:

  • Provide clinical and administrative support to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers.
  • Provide administrative support to front office to include patient check in and check out.
  • Prepare patients for examination, take vital signs (to include manual blood pressure), depression screenings, and document medical histories in the EHR.
  • Assist with procedures, perform CLIA waived testing, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
  • EKG, Spirometry, Nebulizer treatments, Minor wound care and administration of IM and SQ injections.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, behavioral health specialists, care coordinators, and pharmacists to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Support APM quality initiatives by tracking and documenting metrics such as immunizations, screenings, and chronic disease follow-ups and pre-visit planning.
  • Travel between assigned clinic locations to provide consistent care and coverage (Pueblo).
  • Participate in team huddles, quality improvement initiatives, and care planning meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
  • Provides medical services and clinical support as ordered by the treating team, ensuring care is appropriate to the age-specific need of all patients-infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations – based on principles of growth and development across the life cycle.
  • Coordinates and schedules diagnostic procedures such as x-rays, lab work, and other medical testing, ensuring timely communication with patients and providers.
  • Works with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations and verify coverage requirements as needed for ordering services.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with patients from diverse racial, ethnic, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as varying sexual orientations and gender identities.
  • Understands the complexities of substance use disorders and collaborates with the medical team to ensure compassionate, evidence-based care for affected patients.
  • Creates positive, respectful, and empathetic environment during all patient interactions.
  • Supports patient in their recovery journey, contributing to improved health outcomes and enhanced quality of life.

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally moves equipment, supplies as well as patients with mobility limitations.
  • Frequently sitting or standing for long periods of time

What we’re looking For—The Must-Haves
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and Current MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certificate required
  • A valid driver’s license, good driving record and car insurance.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a primary care or multispecialty environment.
  • Familiarity with APMs, value-based care, or population health initiatives is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge are required.
  • Ability to work independently and travel between clinic sites as needed.

What we’d Like to See in you—the Nice-to-Haves
  • Previous experience in a float position.
  • Two years of medical office/healthcare experience.
  • Knowledge of billing and medical electronic records is preferred.
  • Spanish Language skills.
