About The Role
We’re seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support safe, accurate medication administration and resident care on a 12-hour day shift. You’ll partner closely with licensed nurses and CNAs to promote comfort, dignity, and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Administration & Documentation: Administer and document oral, ophthalmic, otic, topical, and suppository medications per provider orders and policy; maintain secure control of med/treatment carts and keys.
- Treatment Support: Perform approved basic skin treatments per orders; promptly report changes in condition, side effects, or abnormal vitals/intake & output.
- Resident Care: Answer call lights, conduct purposeful rounds, and assist with ADLs (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, positioning, and equipment use) per the plan of care.
- Safety & Compliance: Practice standard precautions and infection prevention; follow emergency, elopement, and safety protocols; complete accurate, timely charting and incident reporting; protect resident privacy and rights.
- Team Communication: Escalate family/resident concerns appropriately and follow through to resolution; collaborate with the charge nurse and interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- Current Texas Medication Aide (CMA) permit in good standing (required).
- Active Texas CNA certification (required).
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and safely assist residents; basic computer/EMR skills.
- Professional communication; tactful, resident-first approach; reliable teamwork.
- Meets local health requirements and can pass pre/post-employment screenings (drug screen, criminal background, references).
