Duties
- Assist with specimen collection, processing, and storage, ensuring proper labeling and documentation in accordance with laboratory protocols
- Perform routine laboratory techniques such as CBC, Clinical Chemistry, LCMSMS technology, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), and immunoassays under supervision
- Manage laboratory data accurately using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ensure data integrity for research and clinical purposes
- Support assay setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of laboratory equipment including centrifuges, pipettes, spectrophotometers, and flow cytometers
- Assist with specimen collection, processing, and storage for clinical trials or diagnostic testing in compliance with regulatory standards
- Maintain a clean, organized lab environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols at all times
- Support laboratory management activities including inventory control of reagents, supplies, and specimens
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow during high-volume testing periods or research projects involving physiology knowledge and anatomy understanding
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in medical terminology or laboratory sciences is preferred
- Prior experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as blood banking, blood sampling, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunoassays
- Strong data management skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and data analysis
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques including aseptic technique, specimen handling, venipuncture (phlebotomy), and blood banking procedures
- Understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to specimen collection and patient care environments
- Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely while maintaining high standards of safety and quality control
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams in hospital or clinical settings
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing for extended periods, fine motor skills for handling specimens and equipment, and the capacity to work efficiently under supervision
