Within Wells Gray Park, experience the stunning vistas of, deep canyons, volcanic cones, brooding old-growth forests and raging white-water rivers. There are almost as many recreational options in the winter as in the summer as the stunning mountain peaks transform into a winter wonderland. Clearwater’s ample outdoor actives are complemented by its relaxing lifestyle making it suited for young working families and those looking for a slower pace of life. Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital
Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital is a 24-hour Level 1 community hospital completed in 2002, with a 24-hour Emergency Room. This facility has six private acute care beds, six stretcher beds in the Emergency Room, and an attached twenty-one bed Long-Term Care Unit. The hospital also provides inpatient and outpatient services for Laboratory, Electrocardiogram (ECG) Service, Radiology and Physiotherapy. Additional services include Home Care, Home Support, Public Health, Environmental Health & Protection Services, Diabetes and Dietitian Teaching, as well as Mental Health services through Yellowhead Community Services.
