Role Overview: This position involves coordinating and performing technical tasks in nuclear medicine, including operating radiation detection equipment, preparing radiopharmaceuticals, evaluating images, and maintaining safety protocols. The technologist provides patient care, monitors for contamination, and supports quality assurance and procedure development. Additionally, they train staff and students, assist physicians, and ensure proper documentation of activities.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires relevant education and certification (ARRT or NMTCB), with experience ranging from none to four years depending on level. Must have knowledge of radiation safety, computer skills, IV management, and the ability to operate imaging and measurement equipment. BLS certification is also required.
Key Duties: Conduct in vivo and in vitro studies, calibrate and formulate radiopharmaceuticals, evaluate imaging quality, assist in patient care, maintain supplies, and support training and procedural improvements. Also responsible for safety monitoring and supporting departmental quality assurance.
