Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative support. This role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering excellent patient service. The ideal candidate will possess strong clerical skills, familiarity with EHR systems, and a dedication to confidentiality and professionalism.
Shift available: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30pm
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in/check-out processes using EMR systems.
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism.
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Handle billing procedures including medical collections.
- Support clinic operations by managing phone etiquette, data entry tasks and general clerical duties.
- Ensure adherence to privacy policies and HIPAA regulations during all interactions involving patient information.
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is required; clinic or dental office experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Abbadox is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with health information management software.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective phone etiquette and communication abilities.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations.
