Manager, Continuing Education (PT)

The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA), an Old Town Alexandria trade association serving medical products distributors and their trading partners, is seeking well-organized manager to join its education content team. This staff member will have day-to-day responsibility for HIDA’s “Accredited in Medical Sales” (AMS) online training program, a comprehensive education portal used by well over 2,000 people in the healthcare products industry, along with other member facing education programs.

The manager will provide essential operational and administrative support across AMS, the HIDA Learning Center, and related virtual education initiatives. This position would help manage recurring program tasks such as LMS updates, course and webinar setup, user support, data tracking, and routine customer communications. The manager will also support content production by assisting with speaker coordination, file and asset management, video uploads, thumbnail selection, graphics, and social media-ready materials. HIDA is a leading voice on matters important to the healthcare distribution industry as well as the healthcare supply chain as a whole. This is a 24-hour-per-week, part-time position with a flexible in-office schedule. HIDA is located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

The Manager, Continuing Education reports to the Senior Manager, Virtual and Continuing Education and will work closely will HIDA’s education content, marketing, and membership teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

AMS Sales Training

Content Management

• Manages course content review process (with support from subject matter experts) and updates courses through Articulate Storyline and Rise 360 to ensure content is accurate and relevant
• Manages processes related to new course development
• Creates test questions for courses

Learning Management System

• Identifies needs for LMS improvements and coordinates with external partners where appropriate to continually improve user experience
• Manages processes that allow users to earn the Accredited in Medical Sales credential

Customer Service and Administration

• Maintains and reports up-to-date information related to program licensees, users, and managers
• Provides training and support to users and managers
• Manages renewal billing for AMS licensees
• Supports sales and marketing efforts to grow program sales and recruit new licensees

HIDA Online Learning Center

• Assists with identifying education topics and recruits speakers and subject matter experts
• Coordinates production schedules and processes
• Work closely with the Website Manager with graphic/video content management through YouTube, HIDA website and social media
• Manage data tracking of education content

Other Responsibilities

• Identifies opportunities to repurpose existing HIDA content and repurpose into bite sized micro-learning for YouTube and social media
• Assists with live educational events and other projects when needed
• Promotes and tracks participation
• Ensures high-quality, engaging, relevant presentations and visuals
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two or more years of relevant professional experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with learning management systems and Articulate e-learning course creation tool (e-learning content authoring experience a plus)
• Experience with Canva is a plus
• Tech savvy, comfortable learning and using new tech tools
• Excellent project management skills: very organized and detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills including grammar and proofreading
• Strong customer service orientation with both internal and external customers
• Ability to work as a team player and team leader combined with the ability to effectively interact with members, staff, and external contacts
• Competency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management software
• Experience with Zoom webinar a plus
• Social media skills a plus
• Familiarity with healthcare and distribution issues a plus; ability to quickly learn about these areas a must
• Experience in the association environment preferred

Pay Range

$40-45/hour
