VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse (RN), Sexual and Reproductive Health Services
LOCATION: Nantucket Sexual & Reproductive Health
HOURS: Full time or part-time, one evening required
SALARY: $55/hourly
BENEFITS: Medical, dental, holiday, paid earned leave, 403b, etc.
DUTIES: DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services, the RN will be responsible for:
- Providing clients with non-judgmental and accurate information regarding reproductive health issues, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, HIV, Hepatitis, pregnancy options, and pregnancy prevention.
- Performing routine lab functions and testing including phlebotomy, urine pregnancy testing, HIV and Hepatitis testing and preparing specimens for transport.
- Assisting with GYN procedures including abortions, colposcopy, LEEP, and ultrasound.
- Triaging post procedure patient care
- Rooming patients, obtaining and recording client’s medical history including gynecological, obstetrical and sexual history
- Providing service navigation including linking patients to care and providing referrals and medical follow-up
- Providing HIV PrEP/nPEP drug assistance, referrals for overdose education and Naloxone, medication assisted treatment, syringe services, mental health, primary care, housing, and other social services
- Administering vaccines and injections, monitoring and providing post injection education.
- Coordinating timely patient medical follow-up based on medical provider recommendations including contacting patients, scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating care per protocols.
- Managing laboratory compliance including laboratory controls, proficiency, testing, and equipment calibration and verification requirements
- Overseeing inventory of medications and supplies.
- Utilizing the electronic health record system to maintain clinical records including accurate and complete documentation of patient information according to established protocols and funder guidelines.
- Reviewing and reconciling lab results.
- Maintaining current knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (i.e. CDC, DPH)
- Conducting outreach and participating in local provider meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A degree from an accredited nursing program, a current MA nursing license and CPR certification; 2 years’ experience providing direct patient care in health care setting; ability to use a computer and electronic medical record: demonstrated excellent communication skills including a professional, non-judgmental, client-centered demeanor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese speaking; prior infectious disease experience.
