Speech Language Pathologist

Role Overview

Provide speech-language pathology services to patients, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, discharge planning, and supervision of assistants and rehab techs. Work collaboratively with residents and team members to support communication, cognition, and swallowing safety within organizational guidelines. Maintain professional conduct, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to program development to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and oversee speech therapy services to improve communication and swallowing functions.
• Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
• Supervise and refer to Speech Language Pathology Assistants and rehab staff when appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team activities, documentation, and compliance efforts.
• Maintain professional licensure, ASHA certification, and ongoing education.
• Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and patient rights policies.
• Build effective relationships with patients, staff, and external parties.
• Perform administrative duties including documentation, billing, and program development.
• Possibly supervise students and support clinical program enhancements.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• Valid state licensure and ASHA certification if applicable.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with physical capability to perform required activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic internet use.
