PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position will perform functions to maintain facilities owned and leased by the Clinic. This may include equipment or systems installation, facilities equipment repair, preventive maintenance, painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, transportation functions, and other projects.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

  • Maintain the structural integrity, operational readiness, and overall appearance of White House Clinics facilities.
  • Perform tasks necessary to ensure the safety, health and welfare of facility occupants entrusted in your care.
  • Clean exhaust intakes.
  • Assemble furniture.
  • Maintain light fixtures.
  • Maintain plumbing and electrical equipment/systems.
  • Perform routine HVAC system maintenance.
  • Clean outside windows and screens.
  • Perform groundskeeping tasks, as required: Mowing, Trimming, Mulching, Liter clean up, etc.
  • Empty outside trash receptacles.
  • Clear snow and ice from parking lot and sidewalks.
  • Sets up tables, tents, etc. for organizational and community outreach activities.
  • Destroy confidential material scheduled for discard.
  • Perform delivery and/or courier duties, as needed.
  • Clean and properly maintain White House Clinics vehicles.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients, external customers (visitors from other offices, hospital, community agencies, etc.), and co-workers. Serves as an ambassador of the White House Clinics in all conversations and interactions with these parties.
  • Completes and/or assists with other duties or in other departments as instructed by supervisor.

ACCOUNTABILITY
Reports to the Facilities Manager, and ultimately to the Director of Patient Experience.

None.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in various interior and exterior areas of the clinic locations, including outdoor work in extreme weather conditions. Work involves frequent contact with staff and public. Work may be stressful at times. This position requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders. The position also requires lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment, often in excess of 50 pounds. Mobility is necessary for traveling between sites and performing work in various indoor and outdoor environments. Additionally, the position requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to safely operate hand tools, power tools, landscaping equipment, a computer keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office and maintenance equipment. Normal range of hearing and vision is required to safely perform tasks and effectively communicate and document information.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Regular travel between clinics in a company vehicle is a requirement for this position.

WORK HOURS
37.5 hours per week with an irregular schedule, subject to wage and hour laws. Evenings will be required on a regular basis; weekend work necessary on occasion.

SALARY
Starting at $15.04 per hour, based on experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: Two years of experience working in facilities maintenance preferred. HVAC certification as well as other certifications preferred, but not required.
Required License: Possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver's license.

Qualifications
Knowledge of maintenance functions and standards, including safety and sanitation. Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, tools, and equipment. Knowledge of common safety hazards to identify potential safety problems. Skill in operating maintenance equipment and machines.
