Procurement Buyer

Location: Hauppauge, NY – Hybrid, must be close enough to travel to office 1x per quarter/4x per year

We’re looking for a sharp, proactive Procurement Buyer to join our Operations team and help streamline our supply chain as we continue expanding our brands.

Position Summary

The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining optimal inventory levels across all product categories — from raw ingredients and packaging to finished goods. This individual will work cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure continuity of supply, cost efficiency, and vendor performance.

Experience with NetSuite or Oracle ERP is required, and familiarity with consumable purchasing is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

·        Manage purchasing for ingredients, packaging, finished goods, and indirect materials across multiple facilities and suppliers.

·        Maintain item and vendor records in NetSuite, ensuring accurate lead times, pricing, and vendor terms.

·        Issue purchase orders, track order confirmations, and monitor delivery timelines.

·        Collaborate with production planning and warehouse teams to forecast material needs and avoid stock-outs or overages.

·        Partner with R&D and Quality teams to onboard new suppliers and support new product launches.

·        Troubleshoot supply issues, shortages, and delays, maintaining proactive communication with internal stakeholders.

·        Support landed cost, freight, and customs coordination to ensure full cost accuracy.

·        Generate reports and KPIs related to inventory turns, supplier on-time delivery, and purchase price variances.

·        Participate in ERP process improvements and workflow enhancements within NetSuite.

Qualifications

·        3–5 years of experience in Procurement, Buying, or Supply Chain (preferably in the Pet Food, Food & Beverage, or CPG industry).

·        ERP experience required – NetSuite strongly preferred, Oracle or SAP also acceptable.

·        Strong understanding of vendor management, material planning, and cost analysis.

·        Proficient in Excel and data analysis; ability to translate data into actionable insights.

·        Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

·        Strong communication and relationship-building skills — both internal and external.

·        Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.
