OB/GYN Hospitalists provide comprehensive inpatient care, including:
- Managing emergent OB patients regardless of circumstance
- Labor management and vaginal/operative deliveries
- OB triage evaluation and treatment
- Surgical procedures and surgical assists
- ED consultations
- Postpartum care
- Care of unassigned patients
- Supporting private practice OB/GYNs
- Educating and supporting nursing staff
- Participating in resident and medical student education
- Emergency drills, simulations, and quality initiatives
- Developing best practices and participating in clinical trials
- Facilitating daily interdisciplinary board rounds to enhance patient safety
