What are the responsibilities and job description for the John Muir Health General and Hospitalist Gastroenterologists position at Health eCareers?
John Muir Specialty Medical Group is seeking a General GI physician to join our Bay Area team. You will be joining a well-respected group of general and therapeutic gastroenterologists in an organization with a long-standing presence and strong reputation in the community, state and nation. U.S. News & World Report has ranked John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek as one of the nation’s top hospitals for 17 straight years.
Due to growth, two positions are now available for a general gastroenterologist. The other is for a GI hospitalist, working on a 7 day on/7 day off schedule, covering nights only on the weekend for 24 weeks/year. This position has the option of transitioning to a traditional outpatient practice after 1-2 years if desired.
The compensation structure is base salary plus productivity and quality bonuses as well as opportunity to own shares in an independent ASC. Opportunities exist to focus on IBD, motility, hepatology, cancer prevention and care and other subspecialty areas. The group currently consists of 12 MDs and 3 ARNPs, extensive MA and RN support, 100% anesthesia supported procedures in state-of-the-art facilities, including a brand new advanced endoscopy suite.
John Muir Health is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit health care organization in the East Bay region of San Francisco that offers a full range of medical services and has become a regional destination for GI care.
