Prisma Health, the largest healthcare system in South Carolina, is seeking a board-certified Surgical Ophthalmologist to oversee Ophthalmology services and provide emergent eye care for patients across Upstate South Carolina.
The Division Chief is instrumental in strengthening relations amongst providers and team members of Prisma Health while fostering collaboration across the ophthalmology network in the Upstate of South Carolina. This position will work closely with external ophthalmology practices to ensure patients receive appropriate follow-up care and continuity of service. This Division Chief will also oversee and monitor quality measures for all ophthalmology providers with Prisma Health hospital privileges to support high standards of patient care and clinical performance.
The Ophthalmic Hospitalist provides comprehensive 24/7 emergency and inpatient ophthalmology coverage at Greenville Memorial Hospital, delivering expert care for emergency and inpatient consults, including traumatic eye injuries, acute ocular emergencies, and other vision-threatening conditions. This role is essential in the evaluation and management of complex cases, working closely with our oculoplastic surgeons to treat eyelid-related conditions and collaborating with external ophthalmology practices to coordinate specialized services. In addition to hospital services, the Ophthalmic Hospitals also provides urgent in-office evaluations and treatment for patients requiring immediate ophthalmic care.
