JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
Under indirect supervision of the Office Manager, is responsible for work of above average difficulty in providing assistance to various divisions of Public Health, including Administration, Nursing, Environmental Services, and Public Health HumanServices.
Essential Job Functions and Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clerical and primary front desk operations for the entire health department
- Provides a professional and friendly voice and face to the public
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Assists with clinics in office and county wide
- Must learn the immunization schedule within 6 months
- Administers food handlers tests
- Must learn Vital Records and certified within 6 months
- Must learn Vision Program
- Must learn reportable diseases in the state of Arizona and conduct communicable disease investigations and case monitoring
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional staff, co-workers, and patients
- Promote adherence to public health policy, such as immunization and food code standards
- Adhere to all confidentiality and infection control policies
- Answers the phone, takes messages, and forwards calls to appropriate divisions * Assists and arranges for services within all divisions
- Prepares clinic charts, data entry, and billing
- Responsible for data entry into various websites
- Able to use initiative and judgment in unusual and emergency situations, have flexibility and take direction
- Assists with occasional health fairs and expos
- Distributes fliers and promotional materials, attends events
- Proficiency in State of Arizona online platforms
- Other duties and training as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Drivers License
- Willing to comply with required immunizations, TB testing, and screening
- CPR certification
- Pass a background check
- Ability to travel overnight
