The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Bureau of Investigations is responsible for conducting investigations pursuant to the Public Health Law (“PHL”). This includes investigation of fraud, abuse, and misuse involving public-health systems and programs administered by the Department of Health (the “Department”) and other high-priority violations of the PHL. The Investigative Specialists, working closely with Investigative Counsel and an Investigative Auditor, will have primary responsibility for conducting investigative field work. This includes interviewing witnesses, drafting investigative reports, conducting surveillance, gathering various evidence, and serving legal process. The Investigative Specialists will also partner with program staff and other enforcement agencies, as necessary, to advance their investigations. As required, the Investigative Specialists will serve as deponents in criminal and administrative actions and testify at hearings related to their investigations.Travel required up to 70%. Overnight travel required up to 20%.
