Duties Description
The Registered Nurse 1 will coordinate, direct and provide professional nursing care to residents of the Nursing Home under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Administrator.

1. Maintaining a current and valid license and/or registration is a condition of employment; failure to do so will result in removal from the position.
2. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists. Should an appointee be subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists, employment may be terminated
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health S Veterans Home at Oxford employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.
Transfer: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service
in a position eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, to a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate would have experience in a Long-Term Care setting with a geriatric population.
Additional Comments
Candidates must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State. This is a Float charge/supervision position working 1 weekend a month
One permanent, competitive, full-time appointment, or non-competitive full-time appointment via HELPS.

The posted salary range ($96,174 - $105,138) includes statutory hiring rate and an increased hiring salary of $9,196, plus an additional geographic pay differential of $20,000. There is also Shift Differential pay increase (Evening Shift 7%, Night Shift 10%).
If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.
This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
