Summary of Work:
The Program Manager supports HCSEF’s planning efforts. Specifically, this position will be involved in the support and management the agency’s Opioid Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program. The OD2A Program Manager is committed to managing and implementing planning and programmatic activities to serve individuals at risk for and/or experiencing opioid-related behaviors and conditions, by working closely with key partners, coordinating community-based prevention activities, networking with and educating medical providers and conducting comprehensive health planning activities as needed. This position is particularly focused on coordinating with opioid-related data surveillance teams, and supporting the timely alignment of prevention strategies with the most recently available data, on an ongoing basis.
Supervision:
The Opioid Overdose Data to Action Program Manager will function under the direction and guidance of the Director or Programs, Chief Operating Officer and/or other designee.
Educational Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in the health or human services field.
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitudes:
- In depth understanding of behavioral health and the opioid epidemic.
- 3 years of work experience in a professional environment preferred.
- 2 years of experience managing nonprofit or public health programs.
- 2 years of staff supervisory experience required.
- Advanced proficiency using a computer and conducting internet research. Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
- Familiarity gathering data on health indicators preferred and understanding of health indicators and health data.
- Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, work independently, and maintain timely, detailed and accurate records; ability to proactively plan and manage tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to develop productive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, funders and other professionals and to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively and professionally articulate information verbally and in writing.
- Comfort speaking and presenting in group settings, meetings and trainings
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and eagerness to take on new tasks and roles.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole) desired.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and anchor the agency’s Opioid Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program.
- Network and educate medical providers on opioid related issues, including prescription guidelines through an academic detailing model.
- Coordinate and manage the community-based prevention activities, conducted by Community Health Advocates.
- Establish, maintain and support key partnerships in support of OD2A goals.
- Collect, analyze and report opioid-related qualitative and quantitative data, as needed.
- Coordinate with DOH opioid data surveillance teams and support the timely alignment of prevention strategies with the most recently available data, on an ongoing basis.
- Provide support to CEO and COO including gathering data, drafting presentations and reports, assisting in trainings, and attending meetings.
- Provide support for the health program activities of the agency, including, but not limited to: preparation of reports and presentations, planning of, preparation for and assistance during meetings and agency events, assisting with trainings and focus groups, assisting with grant-writing activities of the agency, agency representation at meetings, and other activities, as needed.
- Update and maintain content for agency website(s).
- Maintain a social media presence for HCSEF and its various initiatives.
- Assist, as necessary, with all agency audits, monitoring's, and site visits.
- This position may require night and weekend hours and local and region travel. Reliable transportation required.
- Other duties as required.
Other Requirements:
- Valid State of Florida Drivers' License with appropriate insurance coverage. Ability to travel, as needed, within HCSEF’s service area: Palm Beach, Indian River, St. Lucie, Okeechobee, and Martin counties.
